Breast Cancer Bike

When I found out that a close friend had breast cancer, my shop decided to build a bike for the cause.  After learning more about breast cancer, I realized how close I was to people who have gone through it personally or with a friend or family member.

Now the stereotypical thematic design for breast cancer awareness is white and pink.  Well I don’t think that works very well on a chopper.  I’ve seen it done before and I haven’t been too impressed.  So I decided to bend the rules.

Black Metal Flake!  It is one of my favorites.  It was donated by Rick from Old School Flake.  (All the products from OSF are the coolest!)  If you are a painter, you need to check them out.  Then I used a pink pearl base for the panel and pinstriped it.  I’m still using the traditional colors, but I just stepped it up a notch with the metal flake.

This project is dedicated to women who have had or are currently dealing with breast cancer.  I airbrushed the pin-up on the gas tank to celebrate all of these women.  This bike will be raffled off at the R.O.T. rally in Austin, TX 2010.  Contact Texas Custom Choppers to get your tickets!
